IXcellerate strengthens Russian connectivity ecosystem and expands capacity of Its Telehouse in the Moscow South Campus

Moscow. IXcellerate, leading commercial data center operator in Russia, has upgraded the infrastructure and increased the capacity of its Telehouse located in the southern Moscow. This telecommunication hub is built for carriers, CDN providers and content aggregators. Among its current residents are Mastertel, Telecom Birzha, YUL-com, MSK-IX, CDN-Video, RETN, RASCOM, GlobalNet, Lovitel, OBIT and Biz Telecom.

The hub is located within the MOS5 data center at the IXcellerate South campus, which features three independent cable entries for fiber optic routes. The Telehouse zone comprises two carrier halls with a total capacity of 140 rack spaces.

The infrastructure in both Meet-me-Rooms (MMR) has been modernized according to the industry standards and is ready for colocation with a maximum rack load of 10 kW. For higher-performance systems, carriers have the option to deploy equipment with loads up to 25 kW in adjacent data halls. The Telehouse is built to Tier III standards, ensuring service availability at 99.982%.

IXcellerate South Campus maintains a direct connectivity link to MMTS-9, Russian largest traffic exchange node: the straight-line distance is 9 km (16 km via cable duct). Carriers can bring in their backbone lines, install nodes, set up remote sites, and connect to peering platforms including MSK-IX, Eurasia Peering IX, and Data-IX through high-speed ports supporting up to 400 Gbps.

The site hosts content delivery network (CDN) services, cloud providers, banking and financial infrastructures, e-commerce platforms, and DDoS protection companies. Telehouse residents can establish direct peering and cross-connects with these organizations at competitive fixed rates. The presence of backbone and cable carriers enables rapid deployment of connectivity solutions and setting of high-speed circuits or optical fiber links both to IXcellerate North Campus and to other locations.

«For several years now, telecom industry players have been discussing the urgent need for change in the connectivity landscape. The volume of information continues to grow, while connection and traffic exchange through existing hubs are approaching their limits. To ensure uninterrupted operation, Russian businesses require reliable, fast, and secure data transmission between networks and carriers. It is time to develop the existing telecommunication ecosystem and create alternative Telehouses to enhance network resilience, redundancy, and risk diversification».
