From October 1–3, Nizhny Novgorod hosted the DC Summit — the International Data Center Industry Association Conference.
IXcellerate was represented by Deputy CTOs Alexey Tsybin and Artem Kataraev, as well as Chief Commercial Officer Anastasia Neumann, who took part in the panel discussion “No Racks Available — and None is Coming Soon”, focused on the prospects of hyperscale data centers amid power shortages, equipment supply restrictions, and the high capital intensity of such projects.
During the summit, the IXcellerate team:
- Participated in sessions on building high-density infrastructure, designing data centers for AI and HPC, and discussed global best practices in network and engineering ecosystems;
- Joined a technical tour of a data center in Nizhny Novgorod where explored interesting experience with parallel connection of gas piston generators to the municipal grid for reducing tariffs and increasing fault tolerance;
- Visited local manufacturing facilities producing switchgear, medium-voltage units, and turnkey modular substations, while discussing current trends and configurations for industrial and energy sectors, including oil & gas and chemical industries.

«The summit gave us a glimpse into the infrastructure of the future — and a chance to explore global approaches to building high-performance server hardware and network architectures. We discussed with peers that, for now, Russia has limited potential for deploying unified stacks of 1 MW racks due to unclear risk-diversification mechanisms, supply chain complexity, and high costs. But it’s important that the market is already addressing these challenges and seeking local solutions».
